There had never been more than six or more fourth quarter lead changes in a single playoff round. It was also the first time since they started playing wild card games that four games were decided by four or fewer points in a single postseason round.
The Rams beat the Panthers by three, the Bears beat the Packers by four, The Bills beat the Jaguars by three and the 49ers beat the Eagles by four.
In the first three games, the team that had the lead with two minutes left lost.
The Eagles almost made it four when they had the ball on first down on the 49ers 20 at the end but couldn’t score.

Josh Allen was superman again as he brought the Bills from behind in the fourth quarter twice to beat the Jaguars despite playing with foot, hand and knee injuries. He set up the winning touchdown by driving the pile almost 10 yards to the Jaguars 1. He has now gotten at least one win in six different playoff years (only Tom Brady with eight and Patrick Mahomes with seven have had more)
The only two one-sided games were the Patriots beating the Chargers 16-3 and the Texans beating the Steelers 30-6, although it was a 7-6 game for about three quarters before the Texans scored two defensive touchdowns
. On what may have been his last NFL throw, Aaron Rodgers threw a pick six. It also turned out to be the last Steeler game for Mike Tomlin, who resigned as the head coach after 19 years.The Chargers were the seventh seed and the Packers, the NFC’s seventh seed, also lost so the seventh seeds are 1-11 since they added a seventh seed six years ago.
